Kyphoplasty is a minimally invasive procedure to treat the pain caused by a compression fracture or a break in one of your vertebra. It can also help improve mobility when other measures fail to provide relief. The procedure is more likely to be successful if done within two months of a fracture.

You may be able to go home later that day. You may need an overnight stay in the hospital if your procedure involves more than one vertebra, there were any complications, and/or if you have other health concerns. Your surgeon will advise you when you can resume normal activities and whether you should take any bone-strengthening supplements or medications.
